Walhalla Man Charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine during Warrant Service

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A 49 year old Walhalla man was charged, by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, with Trafficking in Methamphetamine during a Warrant Service yesterday. 

 

Robert Lee Trantham, of Keil Farm Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 4:06pm Sunday by an officer from the Walhalla Police Department. 

 

A Deputy with the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded, with two Walhalla Police Officers, to the Keil Farm Road address early Sunday afternoon in regards to a Warrant Service.  Trantham had an outstanding warrant from the Walhalla Police Department on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine. 

 

The Deputy discovered Trantham in the front yard and placed Trantham under arrest.  A search of Trantham’s person produced a quantity of Methamphetamine.  The total amount of Methamphetamine seized by the Deputy was approximately 23.16 grams. 

 

Based upon evidence that was obtained during the investigation, an arrest warrant on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine was obtained against Trantham. 

 

At this time, Trantham remains in jail pending a bond hearing on the drug trafficking charge.  Trantham was given a $5,000 personal recognizance bond on the charge obtained by the Walhalla Police Department.
