The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Missing Person/Kidnapping Investigation

(UPDATE: The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is happy to report that 9 year old Braelynn Ann Blaire has been located and she is safe. 28 year old Zackery Steven Cosgrove is in custody. They were both located in Edgefield County).


(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help this morning in reference to a 9 year old Salem girl who is missing and is the victim of a kidnapping.

 

Earlier this morning, 28 year old Zackery Steven Cosgrove, of Elliott Drive in Salem, stole a black 2019 Nissan Rogue from an address on Poplar Drive in Salem.  Inside of the vehicle was Cosgrove’s niece, 9 year old Braelynn Ann Blaire. 

 

Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to the incident scene.  The Missing Person’s Unit was also notified and responded to the scene.  Information on Cosgrove and Braelynn has also been entered into the National Crimes Information Center database.  Surrounding law enforcement agencies have also been notified as well.

 

Braelynn is 4’ tall, weighs approximately 60 pounds and has blue eyes and blond hair.  Braelynn was last seen wearing green pants and black boots. 

 

The Nissan has a North Carolina tag of RHZ8259. 

 

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 9 year old Braelynn Ann Blaire or 27 year old Zackery Steven Cosgrove should call 911 immediately.  Tips on their whereabouts can also be submitted, anonymously via Crimestoppers, by calling 1-844-71-CRIME, online at 71crime.com or by downloading the free P3 app on your mobile device.
