(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Seneca man remains in jail today, on a combined $150,000 surety bond, after his arrest yesterday morning on charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – 1st Degree.

38 year old Kerry Orlando Hollins, of Gail Court, was arrested at his residence by Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and by Deputies from the Warrants Unit.  Hollins was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:51am Thursday.

Hollins will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation began on Monday morning of this week when a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to Oconee Memorial Hospital in regards to reports of a domestic violence incident.

The Deputy was informed that the victim, an adult female, had sustained injuries.  The Deputy met with the victim to continue the investigation.

During the course of the investigation, the Deputy learned that the victim had been at Hollins apartment over the weekend.  During the course of her stay, the victim was assaulted by Hollins. Hollins also made threats towards the victim.  The Deputy also learned that Hollins kept the victims phone to prevent her from calling for help.

The investigation also revealed that Hollins drove the victim to the hospital but left from the scene as hospital security was notified and the Sheriff’s Office was contacted to respond to the scene.

The Investigation was turned over to a Violent Crimes Investigator with the Criminal Investigations Bureau.  Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, it was determined that Hollins had struck the victim in the mouth and burned her with a clothes iron on her legs and stomach.  According to an arrest warrant, Hollins would not allow the victim to leave the apartment, unlawfully confining her, while also seizing her cell phone.
