Seneca Man Arrested on Kidnapping and Domestic Violence Charges

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Seneca man remains in jail today, on a combined $75,000 surety bond, after his arrest over this past weekend on charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – 1st Degree.

 

49 year old Kevin Damont Rucker, of Keowee School Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 1:35am Sunday. 

 

Early Sunday morning, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to a convenience store on the Highway 123 by-pass early Sunday morning and made contact with an adult female inside of the store.  The female had a physical manifestation of injuries and paramedics were called to the scene to provide treatment.

 

During the course of the investigation, the Deputy learned that the female had been assaulted by a male, identified as Drucker, in a room of a nearby motel.  Drucker also reportedly made threats to harm the victim and made attempts to keep her from leaving the room. 

 

The victim was able to get away and made her way to the store.  Deputies also made contact with Rucker.  Based on the evidence obtained during the investigation, Rucker was placed under arrest and transported to jail.

 

According to the arrest warrants, Rucker is accused of hitting the victim in the face, choked her, made threats to kill her and unlawfully confined the victim.

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
