Phillip James Manley II
(Walhalla, SC)-----------------------------------An investigation into two separate domestic violence incidents that occurred this week has led the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office to file multiple charges against a West Union man.
32 year old Phillip James Manley II of Caymen Drive was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 6:45pm yesterday. Manley II was arrested after deputies conducted a warrants service at the Caymen Drive address.
The victim in the case reported two separate domestic violence incidents yesterday to deputies at the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla. The first incident, according to the victim, occurred on Monday, June 7th while the second incident occurred on Wednesday, June 9th.
Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained charging Manley II with one count each of Domestic Violence – 1st Degree, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm at a Person, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and Kidnapping in regards to the June 7th incident.
According to the arrest warrants obtained in regards to the June 7th incident, Manley II is charged with pointing a firearm at the victim, presenting multiple knives and making threats to kill the victim. Manley II also did not allow the victim to leave and unlawfully confined the victim.
According to the arrest warrant obtained in regards to the June 9th incident, Manley II is charged with one count of Domestic Violence – High and Aggravated. According to the arrest warrant in regards to the June 9th incident, Manley II is accused of assaulting the victim with a belt as well as hitting the victim, which resulted in the victim sustaining a broken jaw. Manley II also took the victim’s phone, thereby preventing the victim from calling law enforcement.
During the warrant service yesterday, the victim gave deputies consent to search the residence. The search of the residence yielded a firearm and a quantity of cocaine. Based upon the evidence obtained during the warrant service, Manley II is also charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.
At this time, Manley II remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
