Oconee County Sheriff’s Office to Hold Next Community Meal in Oakway April 29th

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------In the continuing effort to forge relationships to promote a safer Oconee, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Fair-Oak Youth Center, will be bringing a Sheriff’s Office tradition to Oakway later this month.

The next Sheriff’s Office Community Meal will be held at the Fair-Oak Youth Center, on Tuesday, April 29th, from 5pm until 8pm.  The Fair-Oak Youth Center is located at 150 School House Road in Westminster.

Tacos are on the menu for the Community Meal.  There is no cost for the meal and everyone is encouraged to attend.

“Over the last few years, the Community Meals have taken place at locations in Salem, Seneca, Walhalla and Westminster but the goal is to visit as many places in Oconee County as possible,” says Sergeant Alan Sayre from the Sheriff’s Office Community Services and Outreach Unit.  “We are excited to come to Oakway in April with this Community Meal and we invite everyone to come out, enjoy some great food and meet many of our Deputies who will be there.”

The Community Meal is sponsored by the Isaiah 40:31 Foundation.  Over the past few years, anonymous donations made by the Isaiah 40:31 Foundation have allowed the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office to continue to forge relationships with citizens through the Community Meals and other outreach initiatives.

According to the King James Version of the Bible, Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
