Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Locating Missing Teenager

(UPDATE): The OCSO is happy to report that 16 year old Madison Jade Elgin was located by the Clemson Police Department and that she is safe. The OCSO would like to thank the Clemson Police Department, the public and our media partners for your help in locating Madison.


(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in locating a missing 16 year old.


16 year old Madison Jade Elgin was last seen wearing a light blue cut-off t-shirt, black shorts and socks and light blue shoes.


A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division met with a family member of Madison’s late this morning. According to the family member, Madison went to stay at a separate family member’s home last Saturday, which is located on Mini McCall Lane near Highway 11 and south of the city of Walhalla.


Elgin was supposed to return to her home on Sunday of this week, but requested to stay at the Mini McCall Lane address until yesterday. According to information obtained by the Sheriff’s Office, Elgin was transported to an address in Seneca late yesterday afternoon.


Elgin last made contact with the family member earlier this morning around 12:30am. Elgin’s information has been updated into the National Crimes Information Center database.
