Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Locating Missing Salem Woman

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in locating a missing Salem woman.


Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division have been working and following leads for the past two days in an attempt to locate 25 year old Nevada Jade Fortson of Cockatiel Drive. Nevada was reported missing to the Sheriff’s Office on Sunday morning, July 25th by a family member. The family member last saw Nevada on Friday afternoon, July 23rd around 4pm as she left the residence on foot.


Nevada’s information has also been entered into the National Crimes Information Center database. Nevada was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black leggings and grey van shoes. Nevada is 5’6” tall, weighs 105 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.


Based on information gathered during the inquiry so far, Nevada may be in the Walhalla area or possibly in the Cashiers, NC area. Nevada also has ties to the state of Tennessee as well. According to investigators, Nevada may be in the company of a person of interest, James Rochester, who investigators say drives a red 2008 Audi Model A4 with a South Carolina tag of 3366PM.
