Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Files Charge of Attempted Murder against Seneca Woman

(Walhalla, SC)————————————–The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed a charge of Attempted Murder against a Seneca woman today as the result of an investigation into a reported stabbing Friday evening near Seneca.


35 year old Brittny Michelle Lamboy was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 10:18pm Friday. The arrest warrant was obtained today. At this time, Lamboy remains in custody at the jail on a $25,000 surety bond.


Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau were dispatched to the incident location on Mormon Church Road around 5:50pm yesterday. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a victim who had lacerations.


Deputies provided first aid, which included the use of tourniquets, to the victim and paramedics arrived on scene to continue treatment. Paramedics then transported the victim to the hospital. Deputies also began to gather evidence in the case.


The suspect in the assault, Lamboy, was located at a different address on Mormon Church Road. Based on the evidence gathered, Lamboy was placed under arrest and transported to the Detention Center.


According to the arrest warrant, Lamboy attacked the victim with two knives, cutting the victim severely at least four times, causing extensive lacerations and requiring hospital treatment.


The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. Due to the nature of the crime, as well as health and privacy safety concerns, the Sheriff’s Office will not be providing the name of the victim nor any patient condition.
