(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Isaiah 40:31 Foundation and Publix in Seneca, delivered Thanksgiving meals Monday to citizens of Oconee County.

“For the second straight year, Sheriff’s Office Deputies and employees were able to deliver Thanksgiving meals to our citizens in Oconee County,” said Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw. “Working with our partners and friends in the Isaiah 40:31 foundation and Publix in Seneca, approximately 112 meals were created in order for those families to have a Thanksgiving meal and to enjoy this special time of the year with their families and friends.”

The meals consisted of a pre-cooked ham, gravy, potatoes, stuffing, canned vegetables, rolls and a pumpkin pie. The families, who received the meals, were nominated by citizens in Oconee County who then notified the Sheriff’s Office. The goal is to help families that can benefit the most from this meal delivery.

“Just like last year, the money for the meals was provided by an anonymous donor in order to help others as well as to continue to help the Sheriff’s Office build positive relationships between law enforcement and our citizens, as the donor is a supporter of law enforcement,” said Sheriff Crenshaw. “On behalf of the women and men at the Sheriff’s Office, we thank the Isaiah 40:31 foundation and Publix in Seneca for partnering with us to help others in our community.”

According to the King James Version of the Bible, Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
