(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Westminster man remains in jail today, on a combined $60,000 surety bond, after he was arrested yesterday in regards to a property crime investigation.
45 year old John Justin Casey Ward, who has listed addresses of Murphy Drive and Deborahs Way, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 6:14pm Thursday on a Temporary Custody Order. Arrest warrants were obtained against Ward today on charges of First Degree Burglary and Grand Larceny.
A Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau was dispatched to an address on West-Oak Highway, near Miller Farm Road, Wednesday afternoon in regards to reports of a burglary. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that several items, which included a zero turn lawn mower, approximately 20 fishing rods and a washer and dryer, were stolen from the carport of the residence.
The investigation was turned over to a Property Crimes Investigator with the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
During the course of the investigation, and based upon an arrest warrant, it was determined that Ward had committed the crime during the nighttime hours.
Ward will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
