(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A West Union woman remains in jail today, on a combined $37,782.50 surety bond, after her arrest over the weekend on multiple charges in relation to two separate incidents.

31 year old Amanda Kaye Lawing, of Jones Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 11:03pm Saturday.  In one incident, Lawing was charged with one count each of First Degree Burglary, Petit Larceny, Malicious Injury to Personal Property and Malicious Injury to Real Property.  In the other incident, Lawing was charged with one count each of Domestic Violence – 3rd Degree and Use of a Vehicle without Permission.

Lawing will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should she be released from jail.

In the first incident on Saturday evening, Deputies were dispatched to an address on Biggerstaff Road, at around 7:28pm, in reference to a Domestic Disturbance.  After arriving on scene, the Deputies met with an adult male who told Deputies that he had been assaulted by Lawing.

The victim also told Deputies that Lawing had taken a truck, a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, from the incident location.  The truck belongs to a separate person.  Lawing then reportedly drove the truck to a neighbor’s yard, got out of the truck and ran away from the scene.

Later on Saturday evening, Deputies responded back to the Biggerstaff Road address at around 8:51pm in regards to a report of a disturbance.  After arriving on scene, Deputies learned that Lawing had broken into a portion of the residence and was seen going through the refrigerator.

When confronted, Lawing went outside and reportedly began hitting the Silverado that she drove without permission from the previous incident with an object.  Lawing then ran away from the residence.  As Deputies were collecting evidence, they observed broken glass at the residence and damage to the windows of the Silverado.

Lawing was located in a storage building near the area of Keowee School Road at Chambers Hill Road.  When Lawing was taken into custody, Lawing was found with a wallet that contained $20 in cash that belonged to one of the victim’s.

Based upon evidence that obtained during the investigation, Lawing entered the residence at night, without consent, and with the intent to commit a crime.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
