Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests West Union Man on Trafficking in Cocaine Charge

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------An investigation into a suspicious vehicle call in West Union Sunday evening led to the arrest of a West Union man on a charge of Trafficking in Cocaine.


An arrest warrant was obtained today by a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division against 24 year old Joshua Dillon Ford of Dusty Drive. Ford was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:00am this morning. Ford remains in custody, at this time, pending a bond hearing.


A Patrol Division deputy responded to a convenience store on S. Highway 11 in West Union and discovered a black SUV at one of the gas pumps with a male hunched over in the driver’s seat. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Ford. Officers from the Walhalla Police Department responded to assist the deputy based upon nervous actions by Ford.


A probable cause search of the vehicle produced a quantity of narcotics inside, as well as drug paraphernalia. Ford was placed under arrest and transported to the Detention Center.
