Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Toccoa, GA Man on Narcotic and Fugitive from Justice Charges

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------------A Toccoa, GA man was arrested over the weekend, by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, on a narcotics charge during the course of a traffic stop.

 

42 year old Harold Franklin Curry, Jr., of Spring Street, was booked into the Oconee County around 5:23pm Saturday.  A hold was also placed on Curry, Jr. by the Stephens County (GA) Sheriff’s Office.  Curry, Jr. was also held on a Temporary Custody Order until a warrant was obtained on a Fugitive from Justice charge.

 

A Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau who was on routine patrol last Saturday afternoon in the area of Blackjack Road and Mt. Pleasant Road, near the Foxwood Hills Community, observed the driver of a Buick Lucrene commit a traffic violation. 

 

The Deputy initiated a traffic stop and spoke with driver of the Buick, identified as Curry, Jr.  Curry, Jr.gave Deputies consent to search his vehicle.  A check with dispatch revealed that Curry, Jr. was wanted in Stephens County, GA.

 

Deputies located a quantity of narcotics inside of Curry, Jr’s. vehicle.  Curry, Jr was placed under arrest and transported to jail. 

 

Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, Curry, Jr. was charged with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

According to the Fugitive from Justice arrest warrant, Curry, Jr. was wanted in Georgia for committing the offense of Terroristic Threats. 

 

Curry, Jr. was given a $10,000 personal recognizance bond on the drug charge.  Custody of Curry, Jr. was transferred to the Stephens County (GA) Sheriff’s Office this morning.  

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
