(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------A deputy on routine patrol near Townville late Wednesday evening arrested three Townville men on one count of each of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle due to only one working headlight. As the vehicle pulled into the yard of an address on Rachels Drive, the deputy observed an object that was thrown out of the vehicle. The object thrown was a bag that contained Methamphetamine.

The vehicle was occupied by three subjects, 19 year old Christopher Jacob Barrett of Sandy Shores Circle, 42 year old Christopher Wade Prichard of Mark Lane and 41 year old Joshua James Witherington.

Due to conflicting stories from all of the subjects regarding the Methamphetamine that was discovered and drug paraphernalia located inside of the vehicle, all three subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center. Barrett, Prichard and Witherington were booked into jail around 12:51am, 2:47am and 4:39am respectively.

Arrest warrants were obtained charging Barrett, Prichard and Witherington with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. According to one of the arrest warrant, Witherington has two or more prior convictions for drug offenses.

According to information obtained during the investigation, the weight of the drugs that were seized was approximately 23.6 grams.

At this time, Barrett, Prichard and Witherington remain in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
