(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------------A Seneca man remains in jail today, on a combined $105,000 surety bond, after his arrest this week on multiple charges, including charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – 2nd Degree.

22 year old Malachi Jzai-Amere Cobb, of S. Oak Street, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 1:52pm Tuesday.  Cobb will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.

On March 21st, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division met with the victim, an adult female, in regards to a reported incident that occurred on March 20th of this year.  According to information the Deputy received, Cobb and the victim had a verbal argument that turned physical.

The investigation was turned over to a Violent Crimes Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau.  Based upon evidence that was gathered as a result of the investigation, it was determined that Cobb assaulted the victim by grabbing her throat and shoving her against a wall, which caused the victim to briefly lose consciousness.

The Investigator also obtained a Kidnapping warrant against Cobb for overpowering the victim, forcing her inside of his vehicle and then preventing the victim from exiting the vehicle by grabbing her hair, all of which occurred earlier that night.

Cobb was taken into custody during the lunch hour Tuesday afternoon after a traffic stop by Investigators on Mustang Drive near Blue Ridge Boulevard.  During the course of the traffic stop, a quantity of Cocaine was located on Cobb’s person.  Subsequently, an additional warrant on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine was obtained against Cobb.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
