(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man and woman last Friday on charges related to a recent burglary and larceny investigation.
39 year old Brian Daniel Reed and 60 year old Rebecca Reed Savage, both of Whitworth Circle, were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center, on April 4th, at around 10:42am and 10:54am respectively.
Reed was charged with one count each of First Degree Burglary and Grand Larceny, while Savage was charged with one count each of Second Degree Burglary and Petit Larceny. Reed and Savage were released from jail last Friday afternoon after each received a combined $30,000 personal recognizance bond.
The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation the morning of March 4th after a Deputy spoke with the victim in regards to a reported larceny that occurred at an address on Dixie Drive in Mountain Rest. Further investigation revealed that furniture and household items were missing from the residence.
The Investigation was turned over to an Investigator from the Property Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, it was determined that both Reed and Savage had made entry into the residence, without consent, between February 6th and February 25th of this year, and stole items from the residence.
According to an arrest warrant, Reed has two or more prior convictions for Third Degree Burglary.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
