Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Salem Man on Fugitive from Justice Charge

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Salem man, who was out on bond on charges related to a Criminal Sexual Conduct investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested yesterday for being a Fugitive from Justice from the State of Pennsylvania.

 

On March 7th, 57 year old William Franklin Galbreath, of Collins Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on 12 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Second Degree, five counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – 2nd Degree and two counts of Assault and Battery – 2nd Degree. 

 

Galbreath was given a combined $360,000 surety bond at a bond hearing.  Galbreath was released from jail, on an ankle monitor, yesterday morning after posting bond.

 

Late yesterday afternoon, a Deputy from the Warrants Unit took Galbreath into custody as a Fugitive from Justice based upon charges obtained by the Pennsylvania State Police.  Galbreath was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 6:50pm Thursday.

 

A Fugitive from Justice warrant was obtained today by the Sheriff’s Office.  According to the arrest warrant, Galbreath is a Fugitive from Justice from the State of Pennsylvania, having committed the offenses of Aggravated Indecent Assault without Consent, Indecent Assault without Consent of Other, Corruption of Minors and Endangering Welfare of Children. 

 

At this time, Galbreath remains in jail pending extradition to the state of Pennsylvania.  A hold has been placed on Galbreath the Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg, PA.
