




(Walhalla, SC)------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested five subjects last week in the County as the result of a search for a suspect who was arrested Monday by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office in a homicide investigation.
The arrests occurred during the execution of a search warrant last Wednesday evening on the Utica Mill Hill and via two traffic stops that occurred elsewhere in the County the same day. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office requested Oconee’s assistance in locating 18 year old Daeshawn Marquiz Wilson.
First, the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at an address on Humbert Street, on the Utica Mill Hill, last Wednesday afternoon/evening. The search warrant was executed by Investigators assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau, Narcotics Agents assigned to the Special Operations Bureau and the Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team. At the scene, 22 year old Daylyn Christopher Kennel, of the Humbert Street address, was taken into custody.
During the execution of the search warrant, a Narcotics Agent seized approximately 2,255 grams (almost five pounds) of Marijuana along with quantity of a Controlled Substance. Based upon evidence collected, Kennel was charged with one count each of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Also charged in the search warrant execution on Humbert Street was 21 year old Isaiah Lee Matthew Smalley, of Union Crossing Road in West Union, with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm after a stolen handgun was discovered at the Humbert Street address. The arrest warrant on the weapons charge was obtained by an Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
Smalley was taken into custody after a traffic stop last Wednesday afternoon on Blue Ridge Boulevard at Frontage Road near Seneca. The traffic stop was conducted by a Deputy from the P.A.C.E. (Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement Team) on a possible suspect vehicle. Smalley was a passenger in the vehicle, while 26 year old Benjamin Cornilus Lattimore, Jr. of N. Gossett Street in Anderson was the driver.
During a search of the vehicle in the traffic stop, approximately 44.1 grams of Marijuana was seized, along with other evidence. A child was also located inside of the vehicle and was turned
over to a family member. Both Smalley and Lattimore were charged in the traffic stop with one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
A second traffic stop also occurred last Wednesday evening on Blue Ridge Boulevard at Keowee School Road, which is in the Bountyland Community. The traffic stop was also conducted by a Deputy from the P.A.C.E. team on a possible suspect vehicle.
The passenger in the vehicle on this traffic stop, 20 year old Antonio Moleke Montana Pasco, of Lakeview Trail in Martin, GA, ran away from the traffic stop but was taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle, 20 year old Tyler Benjamin Robinson of E. South 1st Street in Seneca was also taken into custody.
Approximately 51.9 grams of Marijuana was seized in a bag that belonged to Pasco. Due to evidence that was gathered, Pasco was charged with one count each of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
The Sheriff’s Office also obtained a Fugitive from Justice Warrant against Pasco. The warrant was obtained due to Pasco having committed four counts of Aggravated Assault in the state of Georgia. A hold was placed on Pasco by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office.
Robinson was charged with one count of Simple Possession of Marijuana due to less than 1 gram of Marijuana being located in the vehicle that Robinson was in operation of at the time of the traffic stop.
All five arrestees were booked into the jail last Wednesday, February 26th: Smalley at 6:01pm, Lattimore at 6:04pm, Pasco at 6:49pm, Robinson at 7:40pm and Kennel at 9:35pm.
In regards to bond information:
Smalley received a combined $10,000 surety bond and was released from jail, after posting bond, on February 28th.
Kennel received a $10,000 surety bond and was released from jail, after posting bond, on February 28th.
Lattimore received a $5,000 surety bond and was released from jail, after posting bond, on February 28th.
Pasco was given a $5,000 surety bond on the narcotics charge. Pasco was released from jail and turned over to the custody of the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office on March 4th as part of the extradition process.
Robinson received a $615.00 surety bond. Robinson was released from jail on February 28th after posting bond.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
