Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Greenville Man on Kidnapping and Domestic Violence Charges

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Greenville man remains in jail today, on a combined $20,000 surety bond, after being arrested over the weekend on charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – 2nd Degree.


24 year old James Morrison Holland, of Spencer Street, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 4:38am this past Saturday.


A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on Myrtlewood Drive, near Walhalla, Saturday morning due to reports of a domestic disturbance. After arriving on scene, the deputy spoke with the victim, an adult female, and began an investigation.


Based upon information obtained during the investigation, the victim was assaulted inside of the residence by Holland. Holland also prevented the victim from leaving the residence through a side door and the front door of the residence.


The victim was able to leave the residence via a window and made her way to another residence to call law enforcement. Holland had left the scene of the assault by the time the Deputy arrived on scene and Holland was not located on the property after a search.


Paramedics arrived on scene to conduct a medical check on the victim, who declined transport to the hospital.


During the investigation, Deputy’s received word that Holland was possibly an occupant in a silver Chevrolet Impala. A Deputy conducted a traffic stop on vehicle on Highway 28 at Highway 11 in West Union. Holland was located inside of the vehicle. Holland was arrested and transported to jail.


According to an arrest warrant, Holland punched, chocked and pushed the victim to the ground. Due to the nature of the crime, the victim’s name will not be released.


The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
