(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today that the first drug round-up of 2022 began this morning.

The Sheriff’s Office began the operation with a meeting and briefing at 9:00am at the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla.

In all, the Sheriff’s Office is seeking 33 suspects, with arrest warrants, based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office. Among the narcotics purchased during the controlled buys by undercover operatives were Marijuana, Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Heroin and prescription medication.

As of 5:00pm this afternoon, 10 individuals had been arrested so far and/or were already in jail and will or have been served their warrants. Here are the names of the individuals that have been arrested so far and their charges according to warrants:

1) Coy James Broome

Walhalla, SC

28 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 Count

Currently being housed in a South Carolina Department of Corrections Facility

2) Robbie Leigh Eades

Seneca, SC

32 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 Count

Currently being housed in a South Carolina Department of Corrections Facility

3) Kim Lynn Lyle

Seneca, SC

52 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

Currently being housed in a South Carolina Department of Corrections Facility

4) Colby Dylan Tompkins

Westminster, SC

30 years old

Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Suboxone) – 1 count

Booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 11:05am Thursday morning

Tompkins was released from the Detention Center today on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond

5) Charles Lee Hightower

Westminster, SC

44 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

Currently being housed in a South Carolina Department of Corrections Facility

At this time, Harper remains in custody on a $35,000 surety bond

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

Currently in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center after he was arrested on November 5th, 2021 by the Walhalla Police Department

9) Candace Michelle McMahan

Seneca, SC

48 years old

Distribution of Fentanyl

Booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:10pm Thursday afternoon

At this time, McMahan remains in custody on a $50,000 surety bond.

26 years old

Walhalla and Westminster, SC

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

Booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 5:10pm Thursday afternoon

Smith-Manley also had an outstanding Magistrates Bench Warrant
