(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today additional arrests in the first drug round-up of 2023.
The Sheriff’s Office began the operation with a meeting and briefing at 8:30am Tuesday at the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla.
The Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants on 22 subjects. The arrest warrants were obtained based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office. Among the narcotics purchased during the controlled buys were Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Fentanyl, Heroin, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, and Prescription Medication.
As of 2pm today, 15 subjects had been arrested so far and/or were already in jail and will or have been served their warrants. Here are the names of the additional subjects arrested:

Distribution of Heroin – 1 count
Foster was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:46pm on Thursday, February 9th
· Joseph Donald Moore
35 years old
Walhalla, SC
Distribution of Methamphetamine – 2 counts
Moore was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:46pm on Wednesday, February 8th
Moore was also served with two outstanding Magistrate Bench Warrants
· James Bernard Williams
44 years old
Seneca, SC
Distribution of Crack Cocaine – 1 count
Williams was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 8:50am on Wednesday, February 8th
· Joshua Leard Sanders
41 years old
Seneca, SC
Trafficking in Methamphetamine – 1 count
Distribution of Fentanyl - 1 count
Sanders was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 10:44am on Thursday, February 9th
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating the remainder of those who are wanted in our ongoing round-up.
