(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today an additional arrest in the second drug round-up of 2023.
The Sheriff’s Office began the operation with a meeting and briefing at 8:30am on Thursday morning, September 28th at the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla.
The Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants on 26 subjects. The arrest warrants were obtained based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office. Among the narcotics purchased during the controlled buys were Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Fentanyl, Heroin, Methamphetamine, and Prescription Medication.
As of 11:00am today, 17 subjects had been arrested so far and/or were already in jail and will or have been served their warrants. Here is the name of the latest individual arrested:
· Michael Ray Shead
59 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 2 counts
Shead was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:44pm on Wednesday, November 15th. Shead turned himself in at the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla yesterday. Shead was released from jail Wednesday afternoon after posting bond. Shead was given a combined $10,000 surety bond.
