(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and Oconee County Emergency Services is seeking the public’s help tonight in locating two missing hikers.

Late yesterday evening, the E-911 Communications Center received a call from a family member of 77 year old Carrell Wayne Fowler of Mountain Rest and 68 year old Sharon Kay Bramlett of Walhalla.  Carrell and Sharon had gone hiking at Licklog Falls, which is in the northern part of Oconee County near the Rabun County (GA) line.

Carrell and Sharon had gone hiking around Noon on Friday afternoon.  When they did not return, family searched the area but could not locate them.  The vehicle that Carrell and Sharon drove was found in the Licklog Falls parking area.

Carrell was last seen wearing blue jeans, a grey t-shirt with a pocket and brown boots.  Sharon was last seen wearing blue sweat pants, a grey long sleeve t-shirt and white tennis shoes.

Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office have been assisting Oconee County Emergency Services personnel in the search for Carrell and Sharon by flying drones in the area today.  The Sheriff’s Office will continue those operations tonight.  Additional resources from other agencies are scheduled to assist in the search tomorrow.

No foul play is suspected, at this time, according to Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office.

If anyone has been hiking in the Licklog Falls area either yesterday or today, and saw anyone that matched Carrell or Sharon’s descriptions, or if anyone locates or sees Carrell or Sharon, please call 911 immediately.
