(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Huntersville, NC man remains in jail today, pending his bond hearing, after he was arrested this morning on charges related to an overnight domestic related shooting incident along I-85.
23 year old Hakeeh Ha, of Statesville Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 9:07am on a Temporary Custody Order until arrest warrants were obtained today charging Ha with one count each of Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime.
Late Monday evening, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to exit two off-ramp (Highway 59) on I-85 southbound in regards to a report of a single vehicle accident. When the Deputy arrived to begin an investigation, the Deputy observed a White single cab Chevrolet Silverado pick-up wrecked in a ditch.
At the incident scene, the Deputy made contact an adult female, the victim, and Ha. The Deputy observed blood on the left side of the body of the female, with blood also covering the left hand and arm of Ha. The female told the Deputy that she had been shot. The female was also reportedly driving the pick-up truck.
Ha told the Deputy that as they were traveling on Fair Play Boulevard that someone jumped out of the bushes and started shooting at them. The Deputy observed bullet holes in a door of the pick-up as well as spent and unspent pistol shell casings.
Paramedics were called to the scene and transported the shooting victim to the hospital. An Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the scene as well as an Evidence Technician from the Sheriff’s Office to continue gathering evidence.
Based upon evidence that was gathered during the investigation, it was determined that Ha had shot the victim multiple times which resulted in great bodily injury. According to the Investigator, Ha was outside of the pickup and shot the victim with a pistol while she was inside.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. There is no danger to the public, at this time, as the crime is considered to be an isolated incident.
Due to the nature of the crime, and for health care and privacy reasons, neither the victim’s name nor her condition will be released by the Sheriff’s Office.
