(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The execution of two search warrants by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday led to the seizure of firearms, quantities of narcotics and drug trafficking charges against a Seneca man.

59 year old Timothy Jason Hird, of Keoway Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office at around 4:21pm yesterday.  Hird was placed on a Temporary Custody Order until arrest warrants were obtained today.

Agents with the Narcotics Unit of the Special Operations Bureau, along with an Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and Deputies assigned to the Warrants Unit, executed a search warrant yesterday at Hird’s Keoway Drive address.

After receiving numerous complaints from concerned citizens, Narcotics Agents began an investigation on Hird.  Also this spring, undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office made controlled purchases of quantities of Methamphetamine from Hird.

During the execution of the search warrant at the Keoway Drive address, additional evidence obtained led to the execution of a separate search warrant of a storage unit at an address on Old Clemson Highway near Seneca.

In all, Agents seized a quantity of narcotics and firearms from both scenes.  Due to the ongoing investigation, the Sheriff’s Office will not release the approximate amount of narcotics seized from both scenes.

In total, 15 arrest warrants were obtained against Hird (four counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, five counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, one count of Trafficking in Morphine, one count of Trafficking in Cocaine, two counts of Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime, one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Psilocybin Mushrooms and one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana).

Also arrested at the Keoway Drive address was 62 year old Ralph Edward Barnes, of Clear View Drive in Easley, on four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

At this time, Hird and Barnes remain in jail pending a bond hearing.  According to Narcotics Agents, before his most recent arrest, Hird was out on bond from a May 7th, 2022 arrest on multiple drug charges, which included a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
