(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man late Tuesday evening on multiple charges in a domestic violence investigation.

33 year old Michael Chatham Jones, of Easy Street, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:47am Wednesday.  Jones was charged with one count each of Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, First Degree Burglary, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and Malicious Injury to Property.

Also charged with First Degree Burglary in the same crime is 32 year old Dawson Monroe Addis of W. S. 6th Street in Seneca.  Dawson is also wanted on a Magistrate Bench Warrant.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation began during the early morning hours of January 12th after Deputies responded to an address on Safety Harbor Road near West Union.  The call was in reference to a disturbance.

When Deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with the victim.  According to information obtained during the investigation, Jones and Addis broke into the victim’s residence.  Jones held a knife to the victim’s throat, assaulted the victim, took the victim’s phone and damaged some property inside the victim’s residence.

Jones and Dawson had left the residence before Deputies arrived and efforts to locate them were unsuccessful that morning.

At this time, Jones remains in jail on a combined $112,205.00 surety bond.  Jones will have to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.
