14 Year Old Detained by Oconee County Sheriff’s Office for Making School Threats

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A 14 year old male was detained today by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation concluded that he made threats towards Walhalla High School.

 

The investigation was conducted by the School Resource Officer at the school.  The threats could not be corroborated yesterday and an investigation continued this morning.  Based upon evidence obtained during the continuing investigation today, the threats were confirmed. 

 

The male, who is a student at the school, was charged with Making School Threats.  The student, who did not attend classes today, has been turned over to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice. 

 

“The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate any direct threats made to any of our schools,” says Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.  “Those who make those threats will be charged and held accountable for their actions.”
