13 Year Old Detained by Oconee County Sheriff’s Office for Making School Threats

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A 13 year old male was detained today by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation concluded that he made threats towards Walhalla Middle School.

 

The investigation was conducted by the School Resource Officer at the school.  The investigation produced evidence that the student made verbal threats, which was corroborated by the student. 

 

The male, who is a student at the school, was charged with Making School Threats.  The student has been turned over to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice. 

 

“The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is committed to keeping our schools safe for the students, faculty, administration and staff of each school,” says Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.  “Direct threats made towards any of our schools will be investigated. Those responsible will be charged and held accountable for their actions.”
